Price: Fishing B100
Rum (rice husk) sold in plastic bags at B20 per bag.
Description: For its low price, this budget fishing pond is home to some pretty big Mekong giant catfish averaging to about 20-30 kg each. The pond owner claims that there is an 80kg one lurking in there somewhere.
The toilets here are pretty basic and if you’re a hypochondriac this wouldn’t be your thing.
The pond can be fished from all four sides. The staff are very kind and also farang friendly.
The only downside is the rubbish and the fact that they don’t sell rum in bulk the way other ponds do but apart from that, this is place has quite the bang for you baht considering that its B100 to catch the Mekong giant.
Tackle information: Unlike BSR, there aren’t any piers to snag the fish into so 30lb line and matching tackle is more than enough.
Fishing difficulty: Medium. The pond claims to hold an excess of 350 Mekongs and if you know how to catch a Mekong giant catfishing or the striped catfish then theoretically this should be a walk in the park.
