Description: Pattaya R/C Fishing is easily one of the most beautiful pay pond I have ever fished. Located in old quarry smack in the middle of some mountains, this fishing pond is literally surrounded by nature. The “R/C” part of the name comes from the fact that the area is also used for R/C boat enthusiasts at the big pond directly below the fishing pond.

The pond is also a very nice place to just hang out. The food and drinks service coupled with the wonderful ambiance makes it all the more relaxing. Of course, all this relaxation is killed when the RC boats come out. Despite being in the big pond far away, these little engines are stupidly loud.

Tackle information: With barramundi in the pond it is best to be safe and use a shock leader to avoid getting the line cut from their sharp cheeks. 25lb leader should suffice. Keep the tackle light, it’s not that big of a pond and there are very few obstacles.

Pond difficulty: Medium. The fish aren’t too big here but they aren’t too educated either. Chances are you’d land a barramundi before any other fish.

Tried this pond yesterday since it is only a 15 minute drive from my house. Not a great place to fish but you are right, from the correct side of the pond the view is nice. Caught 4 small Pla Kapong but had to work hard for them. Did you catch while you were there?

Yes, I caught a few barras in there but there weren’t the species I was after. I was hoping to hook up at least a red tail catfish but my preferred fish are those of the snakehead family.

I caught an Asian Redtail the same trip. I decided to sit while eating a sandwich and decided to throw out my skitter pop with a half meter trailer line and soft plastic grub attached. It wasn’t out there 3 minutes before the redtail took it. It was about 2kg but very skinny and didn’t look very healthy. One thing I noticed fishing that pond is that the smaller the lure the better your chance of a strike. I tried all sizes and designs and the small soft plastic lures seem to be the best.

got excited when heard about this fishing park.thought someone at last started a facility which offered quality fishing for serious anglers.not so but at least it not like all the other fishing parks in pattaya stuffed with pla sawai and catering for non serious anglers and tourists. comeon!! someone start something i even manage and run it for free.been involved in fish farms and fisheries all my life and have fished throughout thailand for 10 years
