Description: The world famous IT Lake Monsters has constantly been featured on many international fishing shows such as, Extreme Fishing with Robson Green. After looking at their line-up of fish species it’s no surprise why. Not only do they stock some serious international predators but they are also mostly trophy-sized when compared to almost anywhere else.

Not only can one fish for the predator fish but there is also the option to go for the vegetarian species including their Siamese giant carp, the Julien’s Price carp and the Mekong giant catfish. In the near future these fish will be moved into their second pond.

The highlight fish here is definitely their arapaima, which has grown to goliath proportions. However, they are a little more elusive than the other fish so catching one would be quite a challenge.

The clubhouse is quite attractive with hammocks right on the waterfront for the sleepy fisherman. They don’t have their own kitchen so the food selection is limited to the stalls and restaurants nearby that will be picked up by the staff. The toilets here are clean and there are seats for them (no squat toilets thank god).

One thing people never mention about the pond is the fact that is it situated between two factories: a sugar factory and a motorcycle parts factory. On certain days the sugar factory’s waste water will stench up the air and the motorcycle factory will be extremely loud. Nevertheless, it’s a small price to pay (including the fishing ticket) for trophy fish from all over the world.

Tackle information: The fish here can get quite big and quite aggressive especially the Amazonian redtail. Your tackle should be able to handle fish of up to 20kg or more and have plenty of line. If you are lure fishing be sure to arm yourself with plenty of tilapia and fishlike swim baits as the main feed there is live tilapia.

Pond difficulty: Lure fishing here can be quite difficult unless they are chumming the water with live tilapia. With bait fishing you would not have to wait long for a bite but what species you catch more of really depends on the day and is quite unpredictable.
